Personal finance has been at the center of most everything I have done in life. As early as the age of nine and throughout my childhood, I worked odd-jobs to save money to provide for myself. I grew up in a family with very limited means, and my grandmother always told me that "we don't have a money tree in the backyard." I understood at an early age the necessity of having a vision for the future to stay motivated and maximizing all your resources to get there. This lesson has served me well in life, and I learned something my grandmother did not know: you can create your own money tree by planting seeds today and watching them grow over time. I have observed how regular savings and active management of investments can grow from modest sums of money into big money over time. l call this process "getting time on your side." In life, time can work for you or against you. Each day we either get further away from our goals or closer to them with every financial decision!
